Dear Computer Lady,

My computer has Windows XP. I need to know how to re-install data from a cd that you took off.

Let me explain this way. my hard drive went out and I want to reinstall pictures from my cd back into my pictures.

Can you explain to me how to do that and any other data that I copied to a cd.

I cant seem to do it.

Thank you, Arlene

Dear Arlene,

The easiest way to copy the files back onto your computer is to use Windows Explorer. In XP and Vista, Windows Explorer is hidden in the Accessories folder.

Click on "Start" and point to "All Programs" and "Accessories".

Click on "Windows Explorer"

When Windows Explorer opens, click on your CD Rom drive on the left. The contents of your CD will appear.

On the left hand side, click the plus + signs to open the folders and find the folder you want to copy your files to.

Once you have found the folder, drag the files from the right hand side of the window to the folder and release your mouse button.
